DUFF MCKAGAN'S TEN MINUTE WARNING WRAPS UP RECORDING

12/31/1997
December 31 [12:15 EDT] -- Producer Jack Endino says that he's finished mixing a debut EP for 10 Minute Warning, a Seattle band best known as the past and now present home of former Guns n' Roses bassist Duff McKagan. The record is due out on the Sub Pop label in 1998.
McKagan formed Ten Minute Warning in 1982 with players including drummer Greg Gilmore, who went on to join Mother Love Bone, and lead guitarist Paul Soljer who later played in Meddaphysical (and co-wrote the Green River song "Rehab Doll"). McKagan played guitar in the band. They lasted roughly two years before going their separate ways, and during that time they never recorded. Over the last year or so, they've reformed with original bassist David Garrigues and a new singer, referred to only as Christopher by Endino, for a smattering of live appearances and now, finally, a debut CD.
Endino refers to TMW as one of the first Seattle bands to shift from the fast punk rock doctrine of the day to a slower, heavier and more varied style, making McKagan's transition to the flat out metal of G n' R not so surprising.
