Strangely enough (or not), there wasn't much about Guns N' Roses in the newspaper of Lafayette before 1991. Only a few reprints from other publications that were either articles about the MTV and other awards (where GnR were mentioned among other artists) or some news reports (Izzy's arrest, Axl's announcement of quitting the band at the first Rolling Stones gig etc.). In most of those articles it wasn't even mentioned that members of the band were from Lafayette; and when it was, it was without their names.
No feature articles on the band, Axl or Izzy, as one would expect. Instead, there was this debate in the readers' letters column on whether Guns N' Roses was a satanic band and if good Christians should listen to them
