This girl was working on a cruise ship, so she wasn't online for a long time. I can only imagine her shock when she returned and found it was gone...

Some of them might just have been there to be social with old friends. It wouldn't be the same for them to come here, unless they all came, and it still wouldn't be the same.

Yeah, of course, I know. It's just unfortunate that it was "unannounced" and no-one was able to say "good-bye" or exchange email address or anything...

I am likely to come and go a bit. It comes with my job. But I will never let this forum just disappear, I have put down to much effort in it.

Extreme for Norway A good run of about 30 degrees in the Oslo area. Very dry.

Just came home. Staying here overnight. A pitstop. We'll be continuing our travels in Norway tomorrow. So many relatives to visit!

Just came home after two weeks of vacation where we have been visiting relative in different parts of Norway (and saw GN'R in Oslo). Now I have one more week f vacation which I will send at home, relaxing and doing garden/house work. The weather looks good (it has been a very hot summer, we have barely had any rain at all). What are all you guys doing?

Sadly I haven't had much work for weeks (due to heat wave and various other reasons), so due to low income I can't do as much as I'd want to, but hopefully there'll be some work in August, before I close down business for 10 days (of which I will spend only a few days away doing sightseeing here in Germany)...

As I said before we had very rainy summer in Bulgaria and I have not been in vacation yet.

I also don't know what you do (as well as most other regular users). So, if anyone wants to share, please do so.

I work as a CEO for a biotech company I co-founded, so let's see how that works out!

It makes me quite busy at times, hence the periods when I am gone from the forum.

I'm working as a financial manager for a publishing company. Our best product is monthly business magazine.
You both have very interesting "jobs", I think :-)

You might have noticed that lots of YouTube videos have been taken down lately? Show recordings, fan-created stuff, bootlegged stuffed, etc. It hurts the fans who spend time putting it out there, and of course everyone who enjoys it. I can relate to fans who spend hours compiling and putting stuff out there for other fans to enjoy.

It turns out that at least some of the videos are taken down due to some overzealous fans who claim they act on behalf of GN'R or Team Brazil. And they due it as some vengeance because they have been mistreated by the GN'R fan community, or something like that. Seems like a horrible way to spend one's time, if you ask me.

Anyway, the last turn of event was that, allegedly, these fanatics threatened some YouTubers (or possibly a podcaster) or their families. So it got very personal.

Naturally, the hardcore fans are up in arms over this. They lose beloved YouTube videos. And it might be GN'R or TB's fault (if we are to believe the guys who take them down). And there are personal threats, too. So lots of anger that has just been looking for an outlet. And people have been anxious to find out if the band is behind or had condoned the activity.

So a mod on mygnrforum decided to try to force a response from TB by writing a letter about the situation and ask the band or TB to clarify their possibly role in the mess. The letter has so far gone unanswered, although downzy (admin at mygnrforum) has said TB have read it and are looking into it. Then someone decided to ask Del James to comment on the letter. He responded that he had no sympathy for people trading or sharing copyrighted material, or something like that. Basically he didn't comment on whether TB was ultimately behind it, nor did he comment on the threats. And in doing so, many fans over at mygnrforum felt he trivialized the threats and hid something. So people got a bit obsessed, to say it mildly. Del doesn't have a high star from before, and this sloppy response from him really fuelled the fire. Eventually, Del admitted to not having read the letter properly and expressed concern over the threats and implied that the fanatics are just someone claiming to act on GN'R's behalf. So it kind of winded down. Now everybody is waiting to hear what TB has to say, if they ever do say anything.
