I wish there was more YouTube of Izzy. Damn, I forgot how to embed a vid again.

It won't work if I get the address from YouTube's "share". It only works if I like the vid and the drop down share address comes up. I think it is the www.youtube.com/etc. up front it requires. I don't remember doing it that way before.Soulmonster wrote:puddledumpling wrote:Damn, I forgot how to embed a vid again.

I wanted to add a Compulsions video I received a link to via their mailing list notification. It was cool and I could hear Frank really well but the vid has been removed from YouTube! I only got to see it once and then it self destructed. Dang. You all have been spared.

When embedding youtube videos just paste the complete Internet address for the specific youtube video into the embed field. Example: paste this whole address https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX1JDz6o_t4 into the field that opens after pushing the video button in your text editor |

I liked the Mark Lanegan song - I've only heard a little bit of his stuff. It reminds me a bit of a cross between Tom Waits and John Doe influence but maybe a bit darker.

I am a huge Mark Lanegan fan. I just bought his latest record which was released on Monday this week and I am in a huge Lanegan phase now.

Re: The 'What are you listening to?' thread
A forum friend from beenafix sent me a compilation he'd made of all guest appearances on others' recordings made by GNR members past and present. That was the first Lanegan song I ever heard. Another forum friend recommended Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses. The "timbre" of some of his songs reminds me of Lanegan, and Everlast too. If you're Lanegan jag wanes look up some Ryan Bingham.Soulmonster wrote:I am a huge Mark Lanegan fan. The same friend recommended Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons.Similar geographical vibe (Social Distortion too but mellower) as Lanegan if you like the Americana underground. I'm still collecting John Doe recordings, don't have all I want yet but I did buy his newest, The Keeper. As a dad you might enjoy Doe's song Little Tiger. Jerry Joseph recorded a song called My Little Tiger. Both great songs. The more of Lanegan's work I hear the more I want to add it to my wish list - I am wondering if any of his material has the warmth of the others I mentioned. Be sure to let me know. Radio sucks, this way is better. I enjoy too much music. It's almost a problem.
