Guns N’ Roses Keyboardist Chris Pitman Apologizes After Calling Reunion Tour ‘A Money Grab’
Guns N’ Roses keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Pitman has apologized after apparently slagging off the band’s upcoming reunion shows. In a social media post, Pitman called the reunion “a money grab” and a “nostalgia tour” before deleting his comments. But now he has blamed the comments on drinking and texting.
Pitman has performed keyboards, programming, backing vocals and sub-bass for Guns N’ Roses since joining the band in 1998, and is believed to still be in the band. He also contributed twelve-string guitar, mellotron and various programming parts to the Chinese Democracy album. Pitman received songwriting credits for “If the World” and “Madagascar.”
Pitman’s criticism was screen captured by a fan before the keyboardist decided to erase what he typed. “This is a nostalgia tour, please don’t mention those who are there the last 20 fkg years,” Pitman wrote. “Oh god no! (a money grab) FU.” The criticism seems to be directed at the band only mentioning Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan when promoting the tour, leaving fans to wonder who's in the rest of the lineup.
Pitman’s words were shared on the Guns N’ Roses subreddit, leading to the GN’R member making an apology via Twitter:
I sincerely apologize to GNR,especially the band and crew, for stupid comments about upcoming tour, ..remember kids, dont drink n text!

GN'R Member Chris Pitman Apologizes for Bashing Reunion Tour: I Was Drunk
But were the things he said wrong now?
Guns N' Roses multi-instrumentalist Chris Pitman has apologized for calling the band's "semi-reunion" trek a money-grabbing nostalgia tour, saying he was drunk.
As you might remember, the man said: "This is a nostalgia tour. Please don't mention those who are there the last 20 fucking years ... oh god no!! ... (a money grab) FU."
And now, the guy noted via Twitter: "I sincerely apologize to GN'R, especially the band and crew, for stupid comments about upcoming tour. Remember kids, don't drink n' text!"
Looking at the comments, the fans aren't taking this one too well, calling Pitman a clown and telling him to get the funk out.
Pitman already took a jab at the band's management in January for forcing him to deny that the reunion is happening.
Although Chris is not associated with the band's strongest, classic era, he did spend 20 years in GN'R, which is longer than Slash or Duff ever did.
Whether or not this outburst means that Pitman is no longer in the band yet remains to be seen.

Guns N' Roses Keyboardist Chris Pitman Apologizes For Calling Reunion 'Nostalgia Tour'
Longtime Guns N' Roses keyboardist Chris Pitman has apologized for calling the band's reunion a "nostalgia tour."
The reunited Guns N' Roses — featuring Axl Rose alongside guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — has six shows scheduled so far, all in April: two at the Coachella Music And Arts Festival, two in Las Vegas and two in Mexico City.
The rest of the band's lineup for the shows — and a potential tour later in the year — remains unclear, although keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, and drummer Frank Ferrer are all believed to be involved.
In recent a social media post that's since been deleted (but captured on Reddit),Pitman wrote: "This is a nostalgia tour, please don't mention those who are there the last 20 fkg years [sic] oh god no! ...(a money grab) FU."
Now Pitman has taken to Twitter to say sorry to his bandmates, explaining: "I sincerely apologize to GNR,especially the band and crew, for stupid comments about upcoming tour, ..remember kids, dont drink n text!"
The multi-instrumentalist joined Guns N' Roses in 1998, performing keyboard, bass, percussion and backing vocals. He featured on every song on the band's sixth album, "Chinese Democracy", and is one of the longest serving members of the group's most recent lineup.
