AXL ROSE COURT DATE POSTPONED, BAND BACK IN STUDIO

It maybe a while before Axl Rose knows the outcome of the disorderly conduct charges filed against him in the aftermath of an altercation with airport security personnel in Phoenix last year.
The singer's court date set for this morning in Phoenix has been "continued" (postponed) to February 5, and according to Rose's lawyer, the new date is unlikely to see the case concluded. The February appearance will be a "soft date," meaning in essence the time will be used for a status conference between the defense and the prosecution. No witnesses will be summoned, and it's unlikely Rose will be required to appear. Rose remained in Los Angeles this morning and had made himself available to the court via the telephone.
If convicted of the charge, a Class 1 Misdemeanor in Arizona, a first time offender faces a maximum sentence of six months in prison and a $2,500 fine.
Sources close to Geffen Records say that Rose is back in the studio after a Christmas break working on a new Guns N' Roses album, and that tape is now rolling with producer Sean Beavan at the helm and engineer Critter at the controls. Musicians include guitarists Robin Finck and Paul Huge, bassist Tommy Stinson, drummer Josh Freese and keyboardist Dizzy Reed. Insiders say fans can expect a strong album with a big sound. No guesses, though, on when the record might be completed.
