Even Raji’s infamous impresario Dobbs was born, and to prove it he held a big party for himself last Saturday night and was presented with two cakes courtesy of Modi Frank and Canoe. Dobbs, who’s now the same age as Jack Benny (39), was regaled with hardcore raucous-rock from Hard as Nails Cheap as Dirt, the ubiquitous Top Jimmy (who finally has a record due out in September from Greenworld produced by Steve Berlin), and happy-birthday warbling from John Doe. On hand to help gobble cake were Screamin’ Pleasant Siren, various Blasters, Little Kings and the inner-Hollywood crew. Dobbs tells us that Paul Stanley (Kiss), looking a little worse for those years of pore-clogging makeup and in holey jeans, showed up for the recent Raji’s Guns and Roses show. Rumors raging about Raji’s have it that the Kiss-er may be producing the glam-boys’ upcoming LP.
