A G’N R FAN NOW: Cheryl Lynn Swiderski of Wilmington didn’t know Guns N’ Roses from the Tournament of Roses when a friend dragged her to a show by the hard-rock quintet at Philadelphia’s Trocadero more than two years ago. Today, Swiderski is part of the band’s inner circle as Mrs. Steven Adler, wife of the group’s drummer. Cheryl, a 1984 graduate of Thomas McKean High School, and Adler were wed June 7 in a private ceremony in the Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple kept the event a secret from just about everyone, including the other Gunners, Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Duff "Rose” McKagan.

Cheryl, 23, and Adler, 24, were introduced at the Troc by Fred Coury, drummer for the Philadelphia heavy-metal band Cinderella. "We talked a lot. We had lots of things in common,” Cheryl said Thursday from her new home in Studio City, Calif., near the Hollywood Hills. At Adler’s invitation, she soon was driving to the band’s East Coast concerts. Since she already had plans to move to Los Angeles, following Adler there was a natural.

Now that she knows the band better, Cheryl is definitely a fan. "They’re all exceptional writers,” she said. "They’re kinda wild, but I like anything that’s blues-oriented.” She and Adler, who spent Memorial Day weekend at the Delaware shore, plan a trip to Wilmington "sometime next year” for a traditional church wedding, which will include some of her many family members in Browntown, Elsmere and other parts of the Wilmington area. Will the entire Guns ’N Roses clan be in attendance? "It’s possible,” said Cheryl, adding that plans are up in the air until the band finishes recording its next LP, as yet untitled.
