More touring in 2015? - FALSE

Dj Ashba talks about touring plans (+ album?) for 2015:

LRI: Does Guns N’ Roses have any recording or touring plans in 2015?

DJ: We are planning on doing quite a bit of touring this coming year. The focus is getting in a studio and putting together what we all feel is the best Guns N’ Roses record. Lack of material is not an issue. We have tons of stuff. Axl has two full albums that he has recorded,  he has played me a bunch of songs off of that, are incredible! I can’t wait to get in and kind of dive into those as well. I’ve written tons of songs & demoed up a bunch of stuff. I think it is just a matter of getting in & sifting through the piles of material.

And at the same time unsubstantiated rumours are flying that Tommy and Frank is out of the band. Frank apparently said to someone he neded to find a new job after the Vegas residency, but this could just be him knowing the band would be on hiatus for some months and him wanting to do something else in the meantime. Tommy is also rumoured to want out because of his reunion with the Replacements. It is easy to construe that possibility but until I actually hear it from Tommy or GN'R then I will just assume that he wants to be in both bands. Then we have Bumblefoot which may or may not be in the band. I never felt these rumours warranted their own thread - being unsubstantiated and seemingly based on nothing but conjecture - but it is worth mentioning here because with Dj saying the band will do a lot of touring in 2015 that suggests there won't be major lineup changes.

Damn, I miss the activity in GNR land

It's oh so quiet.

DJ Ashba is going to be a busy man this year. The guitarist will hit the road with Sixx: A.M. in April to kick off touring promotion of their Modern Vintage album, but his gig with Guns N’ Roses is looming shortly after.

In an interview with Rock Reflected, Ashba says of GN’R, “We were talking about doing another huge tour. Our main focus right now is putting together the next Guns record. We’ve got tons of material — it’s just a matter of sitting down and sifting through all the pieces. It looks like we’re going to be doing a lot more touring.”

We'll see. At least he says "main focus" is on the new album, so let's hope it's true.

Well, he has said that a few times already, without it being true, so I am not too optimistic.

The official FB GN'R page has just stated they are unsure about any touring in 2015.

Doesn't surprise me at this point in time. Tommy is going out on tour with The Replacements from April to June. Dj Ashba will be touring with Sixx Am. Chris & Frank have a side project with electronic music. Dizzy and Richard are probably busy with the Dead Daisies? Bumblefoot (not even sure if he's still a member) is busy with his solo album and more.

Dj just said this in a recent interview:

I’ve got [Axl's] back whenever he needs me. Ever since I joined GNR six years ago, it’s almost been nonstop touring. But we’ve kind of talked of more touring, and I’m looking at this more as a hiatus than the end.

That doesn't sound good..

I agree. Sounds like Axl is on a real downer now.

During a brand new interview with Austria's Stormbringer webzine conducted on June 6 at the Rock In Vienna festival, GUNS N' ROSES and THE DEAD DAISIES guitarist Richard Fortus was asked about rumors that GN'R was working on the follow-up to "Chinese Democracy" and when fans can expect to see new activity from the Axl Rose-fronted band.

"We're gonna be doing stuff next year," Richard responded (see video below). "There's… We're not gonna have anything out this year. Yeah… Next year…. Next year, it should be out. And we'll be touring."

Anyway, we have heard similar things from Richard before, so I don't really get too excited about it. But, together with Frank saying he is in regular contact with Axl, it suggests the band isn't dead/dissolved completely. There is enough for me here to be optimistic about what to come

Haha, who knows? I wouldn't count on it, but you never now. Maybe Axl actually has done some work besides watching boxing and writing letters.

Well, he posted a pic from a studio last year, so I guess he has. (Of course we have no idea how consistently he's worked in the studio, if he's been there this year etc.)

When "Chinese Democracy" was finally released, many fans had lost hope or faith that it would ever be released. Now, many fans don't believe in a follow-up "soon", so who knows, it might actually come out next year!
