Tour cancelled? - FALSE

This was tweeted:

axlrose: All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds. about 8 hours ago via mobile web

Then this followed:

Then this guy (who is he?) wrote:

gunsoftruth: Hey guys - Axl's account was hacked. The upcoming shows are still going ahead. We'll have confirmation as soon as Twitter resets his pwd. about 4 hours ago via web

So either some hacked Axl's twitter account or the tour is really cancelled.

Bumblefoot has mailed:
Give it 48 hours, hopefully whatever it is will get resolved. (No one quit the band or anything like that...)

But rumours are saying that the tour really has been cancelled.

Rumor has it that "Walker Alford" is the guy that hacked Axl's tweeter account:

"Guns N' Roses have not cancelled their UK live shows and Reading and Leeds festival gigs, despite earlier reports.

A spokesperson for the dual site festival said the group’s management had told them that Axl Rose’s Twitter had been hacked and that the information was false.

A message late on Sunday night read: “All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds.”

G’n’R are scheduled to hit the Reading main stage on Friday August 27 and Leeds on Sunday 29 August.

They have also got UK arena dates arranged for October in Birmingham, London and Manchester."

Our of respect for Bumblefoot I will not post the content of the E-mail he referred to above, but it is obvious that he is finding it hard to accept GNR's lack of professionalism when it comes to delivering on schedule and treating the fans with respect.

But hopefully this has nothing to do with the axlrose tweet.

The cancellation tweet is still up and no official statement on Facebook or twitter denying the cancellation. Seems like the "management" are doing damage control and trying to convince Axl change his mind (yeah, I don't believe the "hacker" explanation one bit...). The remaining band seems to be in the loop, as well. Hopefully Axl will come forward and either deny or confirm the cancellation, soon.

Hard to say what caused him to cancel the tour, but it is obvious that band members (as well as his fan base) are getting fed up with his lack of professionalism and this may have caused a conflict that again made him lash of destructively, this time by cancelling the tour.

Well, at least it is still exciting times to be a GN'R fan

Tommy commented on the cancellation tweet recently on Cleveland, Ohio's classic rock radio station 98.5 WNCX:

"It's startling to me how stuff happens. It's stressful. It's like you kinda think, 'OK, well, I've gotta get my life in order here 'cause I'm leaving in five days,' and then you hear something like that coming down the pike.

"It's, like, Sunday night and you're like, 'How am I supposed to deal with that?' Everyone's just trying to figure out what's happening with it and how it happened and then I get the call that everything's fine, whatever - it's just some crazy shit going on."

I can confirm that other band members also were not informed about the tweet and what was going on, but they all seem to assemble in London these days. Hopefully Axl will show up, too.

Nobody will ever realize the amount of bullshit that Axl gets thrown at him on a daily basis. If you only knew the half of it, you would understand. Trust me I don't know anyone out there that could deal with what he has to, to keep a monster like Guns N' Roses rolling and still get on stage and perform like he does. My hat goes off to him.
