Cool that the band must have practised this on short notice since Doc Neeson just recently passed away, with Axl being involved (although he probably didn't rehearse the song with the band prior to tonight's show).

Also: last show (with duff) Richard and Bumblefoot jammed on yesterday's a little right before patience. When patience was started (and not yesterday's) bumblefoot said "almost" to someone in the audience.

Guns N' Roses paid tribute to late The Angels singer/bassist Doc Neeson with a special performance of The Angels classic "Marseilles" Wednesday night (June 4) during the seventh show of GN'R's second Las Vegas residency, "No Trickery! An Evening Of Destruction", at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
"This one's for Doc. From The Angels to the angels," Guns lead singer Axl said towards the end of the song.
Video footage of the performance, which was recorded from a closed circuit broadcast of the concert, can be seen below.
Neeson passed away on Wednesday just 17 months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. He was 67 years old.
The Angels were cited by Guns N' Roses and a number of Seattle grunge bands, including Pearl Jam and Nirvana, as having influenced their music.

Yeah, and when Doc passed, GN'R was [...] in Vegas, doing a residency and we did Marseilles. A few shows we did that in honor to him. [...] I actually came down, we were doing a rehearsal that day and I just heard the news and I told to Axl and Axl sat at the piano and thought for a second and he said, "You know, I was really hoping I would get to see him again." Yeah, so I suggested we... I actually just started playing it and he said, "Let's do it." And so we did that night. Without half the band hearing it before [laughs]. Yeah... some of the guys had never heard it, so...
