Re: 2019.01.28 - Triple M's Ugly Phil - Interview with Slash
Triple M article with a quote:
-----------------------------------
Slash Agrees, Greta Van Fleet Are Saving Rock Music
Talking to Triple M's Ugly Phil while touring Australia on his Living The Dream world tour, Ugly Phil asked rock icon Slash on new rock band Greta Van Fleet.
Slash is really excited on the American rock band and the future of rock music saying: "Kids are doing this for the right reasons. It's not about getting on MTV, it's not about fame and stardom, it's not about Learjets and chicks, 'cause none of that shit (exists) anymore it's about the music. I'm really inspired".

Re: 2019.01.28 - Triple M's Ugly Phil - Interview with Slash
And from Blabbermouth:
----------------------------
Slash says that Greta Van Fleet's success is "opening the doors for a lot of young, new" rock bands who are "doing this for the right reasons."
Despite the fact that Greta Van Fleet has been criticized for channeling a sound uncannily similar to Led Zeppelin, the Michigan band has wracked up millions of streams, late-night appearances, spots on the world's biggest festivals, and sold out shows around the globe.
Speaking to the Australia radio station Triple M, the Guns N' Roses guitarist — who is currently on tour with his band Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators — admitted that he finds the Greta Van Fleet "phenomenon pretty interesting and cool. It's really opening the doors for a lot of young, new bands — which there are a ton of — that just can't get any kind of traction," he said (hear audio below). "So it's really cool that those guys are making such headway.
"The thing is there's a really cool energy right now for new rock and roll bands, and it's the right kind of energy, 'cause it's kids that are into doing this for the right reasons," Slash continued. "It's not about getting on MTV, it's not about fame and stardom, it's not about Learjets and chicks, 'cause none of that shit [exists in the music industry] anymore. It's all about the music and it's about the passion of just doing whatever it takes to be able to get your music out in front of people. So I'm really inspired about what's gonna be happening over the next two, three to five years, and coming out new music-wise."
