Duff and Corey Taylor to form new supergroup?
Rocker Corey Taylor and former Guns N' Roses star Duff McKagan are working on plans to form a new supergroup after becoming close friends while the Slipknot frontman auditioned for a role in Velvet Revolver.
Taylor became a favourite to replace Scott Weiland in McKagan and Slash's band, but the auditions didn't go as well as expected and all parties decided the singer wasn't the perfect fit.
But the Slipknot and Stone Sour star continued to jam with McKagan and the two rockers have become close.
The pair already has a handful of new tracks and now Taylor hopes to team up with McKagan to form a band of their own.
In an interview on U.S. TV show A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus, Taylor says, "I'm not singing with Velvet Revolver. We were doing some writing and doing some jamming and what-not, but it just seemed like there were different ideas as to what they wanted to do. And it was completely mutual; it was all good...
"Me and Duff will probably do some stuff later. Me and him, we really hit it off, and we're really close, and we started writing songs together, and we've got some really good stuff. So, you never know. There might be a mystery supergroup out there - me and Duff and some other weird people - making some weird music that people are, like: 'What? That's them?' So, yeah, maybe. We'll see what happens."
Velvet Revolver has been on hiatus since Weiland was fired from the group two years ago (Apr09). (c) WENN

Could be interesting. I don't mind Taylor's clean voice, although I wouldn't want him in VR.

I agree. I like his clean voice, and I like Duff. This could be interesting, but I am afraid it could just as easily result in nothing.

If Duff is truly a punk rock and roller why can't he find punk rock and rollers to work with? This Taylor may be a good "clean" vocalist but he's no legend nor is he a punk rock and roller. Maybe Duff has decided to go "hardcore"? All his beautiful bass lines would be for naught in such a genre! Oh Duff, please don't work with this Taylor, you're a legend in the rock genre!
