Slash Reconnects With Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators for Fall 2018 Album
With Slash having the opportunity to reunite with Axl Rose in Guns N' Roses, his work with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators has been on hold for a while, but no more. It's been confirmed that the guitar great has reconnected with Kennedy and his Conspirators for a third studio album.
The five-piece outfit, which also includes drummer Brent Fitz, bassist Todd Kerns and guitarist Frank Sidoris, recently re-entered the studio with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette and they've started looking ahead to the fall for the release of their still-untitled third album. A North American tour is expected as well.
“I'm excited about the new stuff we put together for this next record; it's got some cool songs and it's got a great live feel.” explains Slash. "I've been working with Myles, Brent and Todd for about eight years now. It's been an amazing ride so far; as a band we continue to get better which is great. With the addition of Frank since the ‘World on Fire’ tour, I feel we have hit a great, creative stride which I definitely think shows on this next record."
However, this is not the end to his time in GN'R. The guitarist adds, "Guns N’ Roses will be headlining European festivals this summer, it’s going to be a 110 percent performance and a huge blast. I love doing European fests and this is the first time we’ve done any proper festivals over there on the 'Not in This Lifetime Tour.' It’s indescribable to explain these shows. I’m looking over and seeing Axl, Duff and Dizzy whom I’ve known forever, but it also feels like an entirely new experience with Richard, Frank and Melissa. It’s like being in a new band, except there’s a chemistry that is established from days of old, so it’s a natural thing that’s always been there."
Guns N' Roses have enjoyed one of the most successful tours of all-time with the "Not in This Lifetime" trek, which kicked off in 2016. But with most of the extensive touring done, the break will allow Slash to return to his solo band.
While Slash has been touring with Guns N' Roses, Kennedy recently released his critically-hailed solo debut album Year of the Tiger. Meanwhile, there has been speculation of late that AC/DC's Angus Young is planning to continue the band with Axl Rose as the vocalist, so the break in GN'R's touring would seemingly allow Rose to work with AC/DC if they choose to move forward.

Later article (May 2); WRIF 101.1 via Blabbermouth:
------------------------------------------------------------------
New Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators Album Is 'In The Can'
Myles Kennedy has completed recording his parts for the forthcoming third album from Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. The follow-up to 2014's "World On Fire" was once again tracked with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with Alter Bridge, Iggy Pop and Incubus, among many others.
During a brand new interview with Meltdown of Detroit, Michigan's WRIF 101.1 FM radio station, Myles stated about Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators: "We just finished a record. Actually, I just finished my vocals for that last week, so there's another record in the can. And it'll probably come out later this year."

Another later article: 95.5 KLOS' Whiplash (via Blabbermouth), May 13, 2018:
---------------------------------------------
Myles Kennedy was interviewed by Full Metal Jackie on the May 13 edition of her "Whiplash" program on Los Angeles's 95.5 KLOS. The full conversation can be streamed below. [...]
On having to work around Guns N' Roses' schedule when recording a new album with Slash:
Myles: "There had always been talk that there would be something in the future, and I think it was just a matter of waiting for that window to open. Because of the magnitude of that entity, which has been extremely successful, I think that finding time when we would have the opportunity to record again and tour again was, for lack of a better word, challenging. When it finally looked like things were going to open up and there'd be a window of opportunity to record, it was good news, certainly, because I felt like there was unfinished business. There were songs that we started working on together years ago, back toward the end of 'World On Fire', so knowing that we'd be able to document that was a good thing."
