Re: 2015.03.10 - Classic Rock - Video interview with Slash at Soundwave
Excerpts from Loudwire:
-------------------------------
In a new video interview with Classic Rock magazine (above), Slash reveals he is already working on new music for his next album, even though he is still in full touring support of his 2014 effort World on Fire.
The outlet caught up with the guitarist at the Soundwave Festival in Australia, and asked him if he’s working on new material. Here's what he said, "I’ve already started working on the new stuff… On the road is the platform that I find is the easiest for me to work on new material. It's easier here than it is for me to do when I'm at home. So I just get going. I take my phone and I record ideas on the phone and then we jam stuff at soundchecks; when we have soundchecks. So we compile a bunch of ideas, and then when the tour is over, we go home and, sort of, hash them out."
Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will have a lot of time to write and play during soundchecks during the next couple of months. They just kicked off their 2015 world tour on Feb. 18 in New Zealand and they have dates scheduled through their June appearance at Download Festival in England. In between, they’ll be in the United States from April 26 through May 23. Check out the full list of dates here.
Slash is also planning on continuing to be involved in the horror film genre. The guitarist, who has already produced the scary flick Nothing Left to Fear, told the outlet one of the ways he’s researching the next horror movie he wants to produce, "I've been reading a lot of stuff by writers who are people I might work with in the horror genre movie space." Slash went on to say, "I've been reading a lot of more or less unknown writers to see which guys might fit. Right now I'm reading Adam Neville's The Ritual. It's awesome so far."
Slash recently reunited onstage with fellow former Guns N' Roses members Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke during one of his shows in Argentina. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators next head to Brazil, where they will play six shows in that country starting on March 14.
