Guns N' Roses singer robbed after Paris show

PARIS (AP) — Police say Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose was robbed of three gold-and-diamond necklaces worth some $200,000 after the hard rock band's concert in Paris.

A Paris police spokesman said Wednesday that the lead singer of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band was fuming after the theft during a private gathering after the band's show at Bercy stadium the previous night.

Judicial police have opened an investigation but the spokesman said it didn't appear Rose was wearing the necklaces at the time. The spokesman spoke on condition of anonymity because of office policy.

The group's website says they are scheduled to play in Moenchengladbach, Germany, on Friday before returning to France as part of a tour of Europe and Israel that runs through July 22.

Woman arrested over Axl Rose jewels theft

French police on Wednesday arrested a woman in connection with the theft of gold necklaces and diamonds worth around $200,000 (160,000 euros) from Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose at a concert in Paris.

Police sources said the woman, a young model, was placed under formal arrest after she returned the items to a police station in central Paris.

She said she had attended a private concert with around 100 people after a public performance by the group at Bercy stadium and was not sure how she had come to leave with the jewellery, the sources said.

Police sources earlier said officers were called in to calm the situation late Tuesday after the 50-year-old singer became enraged over the theft.

Rose is the only remaining member of the original line-up of the rock band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and whose best known songs include "November Rain", "Patience", and "Sweet Child o' Mine".

Woman Admits To Having 'Inadvertently' Taken Axl Rose's Jewelry

According to RTL.fr, a young woman was placed into police custody earlier today (Wednesday, June 6) after she admitted having taken $200,000 worth of jewelry belonging to Guns N' Roses lead singer Axl Rose.

The young model, whose identity was not revealed, told the police that she drank too much and inadvertently put Rose's three gold-and-diamond necklaces in her handbag, realizing her mistake only after waking up at lunchtime. She subsequently returned the items to a police station in central Paris.

The theft reportedly occurred after Guns N' Roses' June 5 concert in Paris, France during a private party at an area guarded by the frontman's personal security team. The singer, who was not wearing the items at the time, was said to be "furious."

About 130 invited guests and members of Axl's entourage were allowed into the lounge where the jewelry was stolen.
