Matt Sorum On The Launch Of The New Sydney Hard Rock Cafe And Possibility Of Guns N' Roses Reunion

Triple M's Becko was very lucky to chat to Matt Sorum, drummer of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, as he's in town Tuesday night for the Hard Rock Cafe opening down in Darling Harbour.

To celebrate, Matt will be jamming with a bunch of rock legends including Doc Neeson, AC/DC's Mark Evans, and Angry Anderson, who the Gunners have had a long relationship with.

"[Rose Tattoo] were one of the first rock bands that were seen with a lot of tattoos and the look of the band was a big inspiration on GN'R," said Matt.

Of course, there have been rumours for ages, following the Gunners nomination for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, that the classic line-up may get back together again. Becko asked Matt if that rumour was even partly true.

"You never know. Usually the way it works with Guns N' Roses is that it's gotta be about Slash and Axl first, which has been a little bit of a problem. Duff played with Axl and actually Duff (and his band Loaded) was gonna go out on tour with Axl.

"I haven't seen Axl for about six years."

The new Sydney Hard Rock Cafe will officially open on Tuesday, Dec 6 on the Forecourt, outside the Hard Rock Cafe, Level 2, Harbourside. The Guitar Smash happens at 7pm and the VIP Party from 7.30pm until late.

Matt Sorum and his all-star band will be performing at the VIP Party only (which is an invite-only event), while a free concert featuring other acts will be held outside the Hard Rock Cafe. For more details go to: www.hardrock.com
