Inside Costa Rica, April 12, 2010:
--------------------------------------------
Guns N' Roses Concert On For Tomorrow?
The promoter of the Guns N' Roses concert in Costa Rica is pulling out all the stops to satisfy fans of the band that were disappointed when the concert at the Saprissa stadium was cancelled due to a faulty stage.
28 Producciones announced lat Friday that the show would go on Tuesday in Alajuela's Morero Soto Stadium, despite the band's commitment for a show in Guatemala City on the same night.
By way of Twitter, Axl Rose said that he and his band expected to be back in Costa Rica soon, but gave no specific date or details. Rose said "3 shows 2 go!", not 4, adding a reprogrammed Costa Rica show.
However, the promoter is said to be scurrying this morning morning to obtain all the necessary permits to put on the show at the La Guacima.
To give credibility to the assurances of the promoters, work on erecting the stage at La Guacima race track was underway during the weekend.
The work is being carried out by the same constructor who erected the faulty stage at the Saprissa.

Guns N' Roses concert officially canceled; Aerosmith confirmed

Not even a little “Patience” could bring Guns N' Roses to Costa Rica. After the show originally scheduled for Friday at Ricardo Saprissa Stadium was canceled due to a faulty stage setup, hopes for a makeup date were dashed Monday when the band posted a statement on its Facebook page saying it would not reschedule a concert date in Costa Rica.
True to the confused, on-again, off-again nature of the events surrounding the concert since its announcement in early March, on Sunday night a second post appeared on the band´s Facebook page that read: “The Costa Rica show has been rescheduled for April 13th. Please note that the show will take place at a new venue.”
The post was followed by an early morning confirmation that the concert would be held at La Guácima in Alajuela April 13.
However, as soon as word of the rescheduled concert circulated among national media outlets, a third post on the Guns N' Roses Facebook page at approximately 11 a.m. extinguished fans' hopes. “Central America update: The previously announced rescheduled show in Costa Rica at La Guácima will unfortunately not happen,” the posting read.
With the announcement of the official cancellation, the production agency 28 Producciones, which was in charge of the event, sent out an apologetic e-mail to fans and members of the press. The e-mail assured ticket-holding fans that they would be reimbursed and that all inquiries should be referred to the Web page www.28producciones.com.
Guns N' Roses will perform its final Central American show from the “Chinese Democracy” tour Tuesday in Guatemala.
Though Guns N´ Roses will not perform in Costa Rica, the productions company Tropix II confirmed that Steven Tyler and Aerosmith will perform at the Autódromo La Guácima in Alajuela on June 1. The concert will be the band's only Central American performance. Tickets to see Aerosmith will go on sale to the general public on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the Web page www.specialticket.net.
