Duff McKagan calling Axl Rose

While Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose said in a rare, recent interview that he would never play with ex-Guns guitarist Slash again, Rose did hint that he might consider working with the band's former bassist, Duff McKagan. So how does McKagan feel about that? He told us that he doesn't spend a lot of time thinking about it: [ Click to listen if you have a backstage pass] "I don't really have any thoughts about that. You know, maybe one day there will be a time. I'd love to play with Axl again at some point. You know, we have a lot of shared experience, and amazing shared experience. But it's not gonna influence me, what I'm doing today. His interview he did the other day is not gonna influence what I do today or tomorrow or next week, as far as I know."

McKagan and Slash currently play together in Velvet Revolver, which is still searching for a new singer since the dismissal of Scott Weiland last April. McKagan recently said that the band could be getting closer to announcing a new vocalist.

McKagan's side band, Loaded, will release its first album in eight years, called Sick, on April 7th.

The album's first single, "Flatline," is streaming at Playboy.com, where McKagan recently began penning a financial advice column.
