DOWN ON THE FARM

THEY SAID it couldn't be done! They said it was too soon after last October's shows with the Rolling Stones In LA! But no... Guns N' Roses actually got together and played another gig!

The occasion was the Farm-Aid benefit at the Hoosier Dome, Indianapolis. Farm-Aid is the charity begun by John Cougar-Mellencamp to help raise funds for economically disadvantaged farmers in the Southern American states.

Guns played just two songs: ‘Down On The Farm' (an old UK Subs tune) and a brand new number called Civil War'. This ultra short set was due to the fact that GN'R were just one of around 60 bands on the bill, each of whom played for just 10 minutes.

Among those others were Iggy Pop, Gorky Park, and Bad Romance featuring Joanna Dean. BR were joined onstage for their cover of the old Nazareth hit Love Hurts’ by Tom Keifer of Cinderella. (Tom also performs a duet on the song on BR’s forthcoming LP).

Guns N' Roses errant drummer Steven Adler was on the drumstool for the Hoosier Dome show and is reportedly “doing great" and working with the band even as you read this.

Guns N' Roses performed as a five-piece but their new keyboard player is still very much in the band. In fact, he's at last managed to find his birth certificate/invent a surname and so Kerrang! can now exclusively reveal that his full name is Dizzy Zin. (As in, 'We hear Guns N' Roses have added a full-time keyboard player, has he got a full name and is he really in the band?' 'Yeah, Dizzy's in.')

More news and crap jokes as soon as we get 'em...
