For December 6, Geffen Records plans a Volume 2 for Guns & Roses called Greatest Hits. I like Guns and Roses but is it really possible to have 2 volumes of hits in such a short and under-nourished career? Hmmm.

Update on Musictap, October 27, 2005:

I expected the before mentioned date for Geffen's Guns & Roses Greatest Hits, Volume 2 to shift from originally scheduled December 6 to another date. With the band troubled in their dealings, it wouldn't surprise me if this drops off altogether. Regardless, this disc, although slated to appear, has a date now far into the future and indicating issues that need to be dealt with. I expect that to change again as details finalize but it still is on the slate. I've already been inundated with email concerning this project so it obviously interests a throng of people.

GUNS N' ROSES: 'Greatest Hits Vol. 2' Due In Early 2006?

According to MusicTap.net, the second GUNS N' ROSES' "greatest hits" collection, aptly entitled "Greatest Hits Vol. 2", is tentatively scheduled for release on December 6 via Geffen. However, a Universal Music Norway source has told the GUNS N' ROSES fan site Here Today... Gone To Hell! that the album is actually due in March 2006. No further details are currently available.

GUNS N' ROSES' "Greatest Hits" has sold 2.45 million copies in the United States (according to Nielsen SoundScan) since its March 2004 release.

GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose and fellow original members Slash and Duff McKagan tried to block "Greatest Hits"'s release by arguing in a lawsuit that Geffen Records was putting out the CD without their input. Geffen officials countered that they wouldn't have released the album if Rose had delivered the long-promised album "Chinese Democracy", which has been in the works for more than 10 years.
