WHO’S GONNA DRIVE YOU HOME?

Former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson described his current tour with the Figgs as “a getting-in-the-van-with-a-bunch-of-stinky-guys sort of thing.” Truth is, Stinson won’t be behind the wheel when the tour rolls into the Uptown Bar and Grill next weekend. Old Mats fans might be amused to learn that Stinson—who was in the thick of Replacements mayhem when he turned 16 — still doesn’t have his driver’s license. The bassist gets to all those Guns N’ Roses sessions and other jobs in Los Angeles via friends or public transportation. “I figured the world doesn’t need another bad driver,” he said last week. “Especially L.
