Happy at last

Former Guns ’N Roses guitarist Slash makes it clear that he's not missing those GNR days that were filled with sturm and drang — much of it generated by the group’s tyrannical lead Axl Rose, whose many antics resulted in major defections from the original GNR lineup.

Slash says life post Axl with his new band. Slash's Snakepit, is “awesome. I love this.” He notes that, “There’s always drama as far as the business is concerned, but there are different angles on how to deal with making music. If you're always open to somebody else’s opinion, as opposed to trying to have a hierarchy going on, there’s a kind of organic thing that happens when you’re writing as a band.”

He and his new band (including Rod Jackson, Kerry Kelly. Johnny Blackout and Matt Laug) have the new Koch Records CD “Ain’t Life Grand” in release. They head out next week on a major tour that will include South America and Europe.

Before he leaves, however. Slash is loaning two of his favorite guitars and two of his most cherished classic cars to L.A.’s Petersen Automotive Museum.
