Guns N’ Roses to tour?

The reclusive Axl Rose is reportedly lubing up for a summer tour with Guns ’N’ Roses.

According to www.undercover.com, the tour would also include hard rockin’ veterans Testament and Dio.

“We got a fax with the offer a few days ago,” said Testament guitarist Eric Peterson. “But it’s not confirmed as yet.”

Guns ’N’ Roses last toured in 1993. After the release of The Spaghetti Incident? most of Rose’s bandmates have gone their separate ways, but he’s still working on a new album under the G N’ R banner. It’s not known when—or if — the disc will be released or if any of Rose’s old pals will tour with him.

The tour is set to kick off in the U.S. in July.

The rumour had also been reported by RockReport mailing list (via htgth) a few days earlier, on May 31, 2000. It looks that Testament were approached by Del James (probably it was his initiative):

This sensational news was exclusively broken to listeners on TotalRock! Radio last night (May 30th) when Testament appeared on Malcolm Dome's show. The Bay Area veterans revealed that they have been offered the chance to support GNR, along with Dio. "We got a fax with the offer a few days ago," said guitarist Eric Peterson, "but it's not confirmed as yet." So, how did Testament get in the frame? "There's a guy called De James [note: this could be Del James], with whom I do a lot of songwriting," said Testament vocalist Chuck Billy.
