Price is right

GUNS N' Roses have once again delayed release of their second album, ‘Use Your Illusion', after calling in UK producer Bill Price to remix the opus.

Price has an enormous portfolio but is best known for his work with the Sex Pistols, Mott The Hoople and the Pretenders.

Remixing will take place in New York.

Geffen, the band's record company would only comment that the album will be released "later this year".

Meantime Guns are causing more controversy with their insistence that any prospective interviewer or photographer sign a contract giving the band copyright ownership and approval over any material.

The document gives the band ownership and rights over “any article, story, transcript or recording connected with the interview". A similar contract for photographers includes a clause giving the band ownership of any pictures taken.

Guns N‘ Roses manager Alan Niven recently told the Los Angeles Times: “We’re fed up with being misused and abused by ail the scurrilous scum who pass themselves off as journalists and photographers.

"We started (using these contacts) with the European press, who are notoriously untrustworthy and incompetent."

US national magazines Rolling Stone, Playboy, Spin, Penthouse and the LA Times have all refused to sign the contracts.
