Guitarist going solo
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Guitarist Gilby Clarke is leaving Guns ’N Roses to pursue a solo career.
“Axl Rose has a different vision for the next Guns ’N Roses album and it’s not the kind of music I’m comfortable playing,” Clarke said Sunday.
Clarke, who joined Rose’s band three years ago, released his first solo album, “Pawnshop Guitars,” in July on Virgin Records.
“I have some very good friends in the band, so there are no hard feelings between us,” he said. “I’ve been touring for my own record the last six months and this is what I enjoy doing.”
