Slash flash
With Guns N’ Roses on hiatus, the megaband’s guitarist extraordinaire Slash has been compelled to seek other gainful employment. No, the moonlighting musician hasn’t resorted to taking on a paper route but rather is spending his summer vacation working on a solo recording tentatively titled “Snake Pit.”
Most of Slash’s Guns N’ Roses bandmates have been convinced to contribute to the musical effort, save for missing-in-action Axl Rose. Nevertheless, sources say Rose’s presence almost mystically hovers over the L.A. studio, with Slash known to reverently whisper, “Axl’s a genius,” practically every time the singer’s name comes up.
Meanwhile, with so many raucous rockers present, the whole endeavor hardly looks like work. The music-making bunch reportedly has been barely able to squeeze in recording time between crude jokes, pranks galore and constant breaks for takeout Chinese food washed down with beer. “It’s like the ultimate endless frat-house party” one insider reports.
