Transcript:
-----------------

Slash: I spend most of my time either thinking about it or putting melodies and notes through my head, and then finally when I do get in touch – get ahold of the guitar, incorporating it onto a fretboard. Or I spend my time just having one close by, so it’s always next to me, you know. It drives my wife crazy, I know that (chuckles).

[Live footage]

Slash: You know what, there’s no verbal way of - for me, personally, the verbal way of expressing what it was that I heard, I just heard it (laughs).

[Live footage]

Slash: As soon as it’s been like, say, two or three days of not playing, I start to feel like I’m slacking. Like with any muscle, it’s something you have to exercise and, plus, I just dig playing (laughs). So I just... You know, I was in a club last night, I walked in and some – I don’t know, these guys must have been about sixty years old in the Valley, some old blues band, and me and my friend Tedd went in there and said, “Can we play?” and they’re like, “Yo, man, you ain’t no business getting up here,” and I said, “Just trust us” and, you know, “let us up.” And so we got up and played, and jammed our asses off. And if I keep doing that, then I feel justified at the end of the night, you know? (chuckles) It’s, like, the only way to justify a heavy night of drinking or something, I don’t know (laughs).

this is from a documentary I saw a few days ago, actually, called something like Gibson Total Guitars. It comes from 1997. Slash refers to it in the interview when he said he and Teddy Andreadis had jammed the previous night and it was way back when they had the blues Ball gig. What is more, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were on this show too and they also were sporting their usual 1997-era image
