Any ideas what this is?

My guess is that it's promotion for an AFD re-issue/deluxe edition. Paul Elliot said on one of the GN'R Central podcasts a while ago that  he had this information from Universal. And I read on mygnr that the web page has been created by Universal.
The scenario of them making their own stream service is also plausible.
Maybe it's both.

www.gunsnroses.com redirects to gnr.fm, where part of what sounds like a Shadow Of Your Love remaster is being streamed.

There is also a countdown.

That is pretty exciting, actually. A remastered Shadow of Your Love suggests a re-issue of AFD with bonus tracks. And I suppose the countdown is to the release date. I suppose people over at mygnrforum have calculated when the date is?

It's the same day as Download Festival, isn't it? I suppose I will have to read what they say at mygrnforum....

It's an old version of Shadow of Your Love, with a new solo/lead added unto it, right? The new guitar sounds more processed.

The more I listen to that new riff I am pretty sure it isn't Slash. It sort of has a country twang at the end there that doesn't remind me of him. Oh well, I could be wrong.

Uhm, no, it isn't the same day as Download. I got it wrong. It is in two days. Funny that my mistake landed me on one of their tour dates.

I can't tell from that small clip if it's remastered or re-recorded, especially Axl's vocals.

Mitch Lafon said it will be released in the fall, but the Slash Army fan pages says it's out in June.

And they say it will be a re-issue of AFD with additional songs?

Mitch Lafon only said it will be a box set with AFD reissue and "a lot of goodies".

Okay. Maybe the Shadow of Your Love isn't included, maybe its just for the advertisement. Naturally, I think it should be included, together with any other demos recorded back then and unreleased. But I am a fanboy

Goodies? Sounds nice. I really appreciate the band doing this. I hope there will be something for both the diehard and the casual fans.

It might seem strange that an AFD re-issue and box comes out 31 years after its release, but that is just very GN'R in a way. The pseudo-reunion wasn't even planned out carefully, it seems, it started with Coachella and snowballed. They might then have discussed doing something with AFD but didn't have time to get it out in time for the anniversary, so we get it the year after.

Rumour has it that the boxset "for the diehards" will cost about 650$...

Let's hope there'll be a cheapo edition for the poorer fans...

I take all rumors with a grain of salt, but I will say this: if it costs $650 then it has to have something really spectacular.

I think it should too. Hopefully they didn't remaster and reworked it just to use a 30 second snippet of it for advertising purposes. It wouldn't make sense, but who knows with this band

I just hope that when they announce it in a couple of days, they also say what's gonna be in it, roughly at least. Otherwise speculation will go on and on for months.

Well, it looks like there'll be different versions, some more "deluxe" than others. One price mentioned on amazon was 179 $.

I am sure there will be tiered packages for everyone.

Personally, what I am looking most forward to, is anything that I haven't heard before (The Plague, etc), the booklet if it isn't just pictures, and of course the remastered AFD and all the demos (most of which I am sure I have heard on bootlegs).

It looks like we are basically getting everything connected to AFD. Which is great. I hope they will do something similar to commemorate Lies, UYIs and CD, too. Then there would be even more exciting and unheard stuff.

what are the remaining four previously released songs? Maybe Knockin' On Heaven's Door (B-side), Shadow Of Your Love (B-side), and Whole Lotta Rosie (B-side). Still one to go.

After "3 LP Sound City session n' more" it says "25 unreleased songs from the 1986 session". My problem is that the Sound City session contained 29 tracks, so some of them will not be included. Hopefully The Plague, Cornchucker Stomp and Untitled Song in Progress, will not be among those excluded.

Gotta say, I "only" own AfD on vinyl (cheapo edition circa 1990), so to me it's tempting to buy a newly remastered version on cd!

I have my AFD only on cassete tape :-)

Anyway this is a good news from GNR camp. I`m waiting for GNR show in Berlin, june 03 :-)
