Foxboro issues warning to Gillette Stadium after Guns N’ Roses runs past concert curfew

FOXBORO — Selectmen voted to warn Gillette Stadium, rather than issue a fine, after Gun N’ Roses ran past the town curfew during a concert last week.

The vote was 4-1 for a warning, with Selectwoman Ginny Coppola opposed.

The iconic hard rock band played 10 minutes over the town’s 11:15 p.m. curfew at its July 20 concert.

“You guys have just lost control of your licensing,” Coppola said when it became apparent the board would not issue a fine.

Before the discussion began, Town Manager Bill Keegan said there were extenuating circumstances that led to Guns N’ Roses going overtime.

Opening act Lenny Kravitz went 10 minutes over. To compensate for that, he said, Guns N’ Roses trimmed some songs from its set, but still ended up going past deadline.

As such, he suggested that selectmen issue a warning.

Keegan also noted there were no complaints filed about the band running late, and the only noise complaint came far earlier in the show.
