Not that new, it just recently leaked. It's thought to be from around the time that Tommy was writing his Village Gorilla Head album (2003-ish). Buckethead is on it, so at latest it's from 2004.

I just wanted to mention that when I worked at a GNR show a couple years ago, and you came in and actually politely introduced yourself to the crew, I really appreciated it. So many performers just ignore us or treat us like busboys.

Do you remember during soundcheck trying out the acoustic they rented for you and complaining that it sounded like a "fake cock"? What was that thing anyway, a parkwood?

I feel your frustration, you're not asking anything unreasonable. I do these things with everything else I do, but GNR works a different way. All I can say is, when GNR does something, enjoy it Smile Don't be upset about the things GNR doesn't do, enjoy what it does. Smile

Thanks for your answer Ron and while I appriciate it, they don't do really anything to be able to enjoy. They play my city once every 3 or 4 years with the same set list and I attend and that's it. Back in the day when you was starting your carrer... how did you make to afford the costs of buying new gear like guitars, amps, mics, etc? I mean, it's pretty expensive for a musician to start a carreer, specially a solist one.

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 4 poeng 10 timer siden

When I was 12 I painted Iron Maiden albums on the backs of dungaree jackets for $20 each. The best thing you can do for your music is GET A JOB, lol. Hey Ron, huge fan here. I've seen you live twice and you never disappoint. But my question may be a bit personal. I was just wondering what drugs you've done throughout your life. You seem quite philosophical from what I've seen in interviews and your bumble forum. I could easily see you being a fan of psychedelics. Is that true or am I totally off base here? Also, do you mediate or anything? You just seem like one of the few down to earth and level headed rock stars out there. Thanks for doing this ama Ron!

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 8 poeng 10 timer siden

I've never smoked a cigarette, or pot, never done coke, nothing. No drugs. I HAVE drank, Jager was my favorite, but not where it's been a problem or dependency. In 2011/2012 to get through touring with the spine injury from the car accident, there were experimental cocktails of alcohol, nerve blockers, pain pills, Advil, enough to kill a horse - fortunately no permanent damage from it. And luckily no addictive reactions. Healthy eating did a better job than the medicine did - absolutely saved my life. Mung beans & organic apples, yes. Flexiril & vodka, no.

Hey Bumblefoot! Just wondering what's your craziest backstage/aftershow story?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 5 poeng 10 timer siden

One time that always comes to mind... in Prague, after a show, I'll give the quick version. A bar opened for us at 4 in the morning to all hang out in, there was one guy that went in and wouldn't leave and was telling people he was the band's manager (he didn't know but he was telling this TO the band's manager.) So you have guys from the band Nazareth with us at bar talking music (someone asks them a random question about show tunes and they're like "What????"), I'm next to them with two European models who are teaching me how to speak Slovakian, and next to me is a brutal bar fight with the guy that won't leave who starts swinging at the manager, literally blood splatter on the walls, while all being served varieties of local versions of Jagermeister. We go upstairs to keep partying in the hotel suite, and the guy who was fighting us is waiting for us upstairs, bruised up, with his family, and a camera, all with big smiles. He wanted autographs and photos. We took pics, we then went upstairs and hung out for about 20 hours until I had to leave and get on a plane for the next show. That's a typical night out.

Something about the performing keeps you energized. But yeah, sometimes people are HURTING on stage, lol. I've spent almost all my shows completely clean - I have a responsibility to the audience, they deserve 100% from me. (Only time I had to be drugged up was in 2011/2012 when I toured after a car accident with a spine injury that left me in 24/7 constant pain, was the only way to get through the shows.)

[–]rafaeldamage 5 poeng 11 timer siden

Hi Bumble. I've been a fan of yours since you joined GN'R and later heard your solo efforts and i was so shoked about your playing!! But i have two questions aside that.

We do know there are songs that aren't played since 2006 but they're in the setlists (If The World, Riad, Oh My God, Going Down). Why don't you play those songs for the sake of it?

There is some label issue going after Chinese Democracy? Maybe the label won't want you gusy to do another album after the "fiasco" that was release the album for once for all.

Hope you can answer my questions. You're a great guy, great musician and you play in my favourite band! haha. You have a home in my house everytime you come to Mexico, cheers!

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 10 poeng 10 timer siden

Live shows are all at the mercy of the singer's throat. The throat is the boss. The throat governs the singer who governs the set list. It's a fragile irreplaceable instrument and the main focus, so all has to be done to insure the longevity of the throat. That means, cutting songs and changing orders, making sure that the throat can survive a tour. It's scar being the singer when your throat isn't at 100%, I know this first-hand, ugh. I'm lead singer in my solo stuff, done too many tours with the flu where you don't know how you're gonna make it through the night, let alone the next 20 nights... so it's all about the throat Razz

Hey Ron, what exactly is it that makes it so difficult for GN'R to function as a 'normal' band? (I guess you could even say they're abnormal, har har.) I'm not saying this to be mean-spirited or disparaging - GN'R, in various incarnations, has long been one of my favorite bands, and I actually think Axl Rose's reputation these days is pretty unjustified and that if anything he's underrated as an overall performer. But it seems like he brings a lot of failures on himself, and because GN'R is so hard to penetrate and so little is known about what's going on behind the scenes, he allows that negative image to perpetuate and grow stronger. I'm just wondering if you could give any insight into why, exactly, it's so hard for the band to release new music in particular. I know you've expressed frustration over it in the past. Why can't you guys just record a tune on the fly and release it as a digital download? A lot of bands these days record music while on tour, and GN'R tours all the time, so I don't really understand why it's hard to get everyone in the studio together. Again, I'm a huge supporter of the new lineup and not in any way trying to provoke here...I'm just honestly curious why the hell it seems so difficult for GN'R to function like a healthy and productive band, especially in a day and age when it's easier than ever to record stuff thanks to digital technology.

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 2 poeng 9 timer siden

GNR defies all logic sometimes, lol. But it's that same chaotic energy that people love about it. It's a very intense positive and negative, no other band like it. All I can say is, enjoy the good parts. Smile

Hi Bumble! After joining Guns, how did you enter the recording process of Chinese Democracy? Since you are credited in many songs, did you wrote new soli/parts or did you edit the existing ones by Finck, Buckethead, Fortus? Your own records are full of different music styles, how did you manage that with the "classic" GNR style?

Many thanks for playing in Austria this week. Hope to see you soon again!

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 4 poeng 10 timer siden

Thank you, had a great time in Austria! Very Happy

In-between touring legs in 2006 & 2007, I'd hit studios in NY or LA for 14 hours a day, playing to songs I had never gotten to hear before, with two people yelling opposite thoughts in my ear at the same time. Youch. I'd take different approached to each song - groovy, technical, melodic, loose & riffy, wah, fretless, heavy, clean, and then see what worked & what didn't.... I had complete freedom and wrote my own parts, my own solos, played what I wanted, and Axl/Caram (producer) kept what they liked...

hey Bumble, thanks for doing this. We met briefly during your Córdoba concert in 2011, and I wanted to thank you that you came down a hung out for a bit with us, that meant a lot, specially since you were going through so much pain. I will hold on to my signed booklet of Chi Dem (the Catcher lyrics) for the rest of my life.

That said, I was looking at the setlist for the solo shows you did in Chile and Argentina and I wanted to ask you: why did your show in Chile consisted more of your solo stuff, and the one in Argentina was basically shared with a covers band? I would've love to see you man, but in totally different circumstances (actually seeing you play your stuff, which is great IMO).

Also, any news on a Córdoba show next year? That would be fantastic, as I was completely starstruck by your presence and couldn't articulate myself very well Very Happy

Lastly, is there anything that you would change from your time so far with Guns?

Hope you're doing fantastic, and that you're free from any physical pain.

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 13 poeng 11 timer siden

The Chile show was an actual 'Bumblefoot' show. The Argentina show was an invite to jam covers with another band. I hope to come back to S. America and do a bunch of solo shows Smile Gracias!!

I can't change anything about the past, can only think about what I want to be better for the future w/ Guns, for fans, for the band, for myself. Might be a lost battle, lol, but still worth fighting. Smile

Hey Ron! When you decided to start using a fretless guitar, was it anything to do with influence from middle-eastern musical culture? Is it so you can get those 'inbetween' notes? I'm doing an essay on the combination of western and eastern musical culture and would be amazing to hear your response. Cheers man!

What are the odds on a reunion with former band members in GNR, specifically Slash?

    permalenke

[–]Saltthedead 3 poeng 9 timer siden

Why do you care specifically about slash?

    permalenke
    foreldre

[–]pileofpointedsticks 0 poeng 9 timer siden

Why wouldn't I? He seems to be the least likely to sign on for a reunion, just wanted to feel that out.

    permalenke
    foreldre

[–]Saltthedead 2 poeng 9 timer siden*

I was just curious because as far as what made Gnr sound the way they did, slash played less of a role than izzy in the writing dept and izzy seems to be more likely to write and tour with the current guys. Slash was a big part of the image of Gnr, but it doesn't really matter when youre listening to the music. Plus after playing with fergie, random favors of the week, etc... And selling his name an image to anyone with a buck, it just seems like it wouldn't be that good of an idea in reality. I was curious because you named slash specifically as opposed to someone who wrote more and actually has a chance of hooking up with the band again in izzy. You're basically asking Ron if he's gonna get fired. If there was gonna be are reunion, which there's not, it wouldn't be announced by Ron in this AMA.

    permalenke
    foreldre

[–]pileofpointedsticks 1 poeng 9 timer siden

To a casual fan, Slash > Izzy. Slash would sell more tickets and create more buzz for the band.

    permalenke
    foreldre

[–]Saltthedead 4 poeng 9 timer siden

I agree, but it's pretty weird to care more about someone with a top hat being in the band than a guy who contributed way more and even sings on several tracks. Slash would sell more tickets but I'd be willing to bet anything better songs would be written with Izzy. That's really all that should matter. I guess that's the image obsessed world we live in tho.

    permalenke
    foreldre

[–]pileofpointedsticks -1 poeng 9 timer siden

Not really. At this stage in the game no one is really clamoring for new GNR albums or songs, they are a nostalgia thing.

Case in point, I saw Kiss in concert in 1997 (I'm dating myself, but oh well). It was their first tour in full makeup with the original lineup since the 80s. They didn't play a single new song or even release an album for that tour, but they sold out arenas because people wanted to see the old Kiss back together.

If GNR announced a tour tomorrow with the old band lineup (including Slash), it would be front page news.

Kinda out of place to have this discussion in this AMA, but I'm sure it's not the first time Ron's had this brought up around him.

    permalenke
    foreldre

[–]Saltthedead 1 poeng 9 timer siden

I'm clamoring for new stuff from this iteration though. I mean, chidem had a few brilliant songs, a few good, and a few poor, but I thought the mix of different styles was really interesting. I feel like if the ballads were two or three instead of 7 or 8, and the really industrial tracks were replaced with more traditional rockers With only a hint of crazy effects, it would've been recieved better and been a better record overall. I agree with what youre saying though, but I think the reason people are on a nostalgia trip for old guns is because new guns aren't doing anything to fill the void.

[–]Saltthedead 2 poeng 8 timer siden*

Thanks. When you think about it, tons of bands lose members all the time, and while there's always a sect of people who want the old, as long as the new is being productive and releasing quality stuff it's usually just a sect. No band gets the hate that new Gnr does. As a diehard, even I'll admit a lot of the reasons are valid. Being hours late to gigs, takin fifteen years to release a good at best album, no new music in years, canceling shows and tours, never putting out videos or anything to get people to know who the new guys are, so many lineup changes in such a short amount of time... This iteration of the band has been around for a while, they should drop openin acts at shows since no one cares anyways and show a documentary movie on the new band, get people to know them, then watch them perform, release it on Netflix, release even a few singles a year... Get people to see them as a band and not hired hands. I hate when people call new gr a cover band, but with Ron admitting here they haven't finished a single song since he joined (06?07) I'm starting to think that's all they are is a cover band. If all people get are old songs of course it's just gonna make them want the old guys performing them. Sorry for the rant, I'm a frustrated fan haha.

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 2 poeng 8 timer siden

Thank you Smile None of the stuff is difficult after a gazzzzillion shows playing them, lol, but the most complex overall (arrangement, technique, accuracy, etc...) would probably be Shackler's (new) and Estranged (old)

Hey Ron! I've been a fan of your solo work long before you joined GnR. I've had the fortune of listening to every song from the Adventures of Bumblefoot through Abnormal. The evolution and stylistic variance of your music throughout the years has made every album pleasurable in its own way. Each album has its own flavor and it's own character. That's something very unusual in today's music scene, and sorely underappreciated.

Your earlier sounds were less rock and more experimental metal, with songs like "Meat" and "Fly in the Batter". Normal and on I've seen more punk and rock influence. Do you think you'll ever write another Hands? Or do you feel your musical interests pulling you somewhere new?

I know most people here are probably GnR fans, but I want them and you to know, your solo music blows GnR stuff out of the water. It's truly inspirational. Never stop writing, man.

[–]Saltthedead 2 poeng 8 timer siden

Would you guys ever consider scrapping the opening bands that no one cares about in favor of maybe a documentary type video to get people acclimated with the new guys? It seems like if people are at the show they're open to the idea of the new guys, but maybe are just there to hear classics. It'd be a good way to introduce yourselves, then show off what you got, no? Make the people have a connection with and remember the band instead of just the songs.

[–]Alpha-Pig 5 poeng 10 timer siden

Definitely not asking him to answer on Axl's behalf, more so from his own perception of the situation. I absolutely adore Axl and am in no way trying to troll this AMA, but I can't help but wonder (especially after reading the autobiographies of his former band mates) if he is better off being coddled. I guess I'm ultimately wondering is if it is okay to be mentally ill if you are super rich.

When you out it that way... I see your point. Steven Adler wrote about him as if he was bipolar - loving him in one chapter, hating him in the next. I always assumed he'd gotten some help and was more mellow now, but my only evidence for that is his meeting with Duff and the apparent lack of issues in the last ten or so years

Thank you for doing this AMA, I am a huge (read: HUGE) Guns n Roses fan. I think Estranged is probably my favorite song ever, I think Axl is a lyrical genius. Now onto the questions: What is Axl like in real life, is he as difficult to get along with as the rumors leave us to believe? What is your favorite Guns song to play and why? What was your personal feelings about Axl not performing with Guns during the HOF performance, and would it hurt your feelings if he were ever to decide to do a reunion?

By the interviews you guys give, it seem that everybody in the band WANTS to make a new record. But, is seems that there's always a issue that stops everything. Many of us starting wondering if the issue is lack of support from the label. Is that the case?

Somewhere in-between. We're hired, we're not business partners - but hired to be ourselves, to be who we are, to write and play and be who we are, with no "you must play this & wear this & say this...", none of that. Smile

People tried to set us up on a blind date for 6 months. We finally agreed, set on hating each other. Dear Bumblefoot, I play guitar and I dream of going to a music school to get a degree. Unfortunately, it's too expensive to go abroad and in the country I live there aren't any course on "modern music". I really want to make music part of my living/income. Any tips?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 11 poeng 11 timer siden

You don't need an education or a degree. You need passion, perseverance, dedication, and you goal should always be to make the best art you can. The rest of the world decides if they like it or not, it's not in your hands. So being a 'success' should never be a goal. Giving the world something of artistic value, because you have no choice, you MUST - that's what matters. Education will come through experience. And at that point you may have more opportunities to explore academic paths. Smile Get the experience, don't wait for it to be given to you. Smile

My question - you've been touring a lot of new parts of the world the last couple years, with GN'R and on your own. Having now played in India, Indonesia, Albania, Lebanon, etc. are there any other countries few rock artists get to that you'd particularly like to play in? I know you've mentioned in interviews that you really like to play places that people are starved for live music.

Thanks, all the best!

[–]harrylime88 1 poeng 8 timer siden

I've noticed over the years since you joined the band, your playing style has changed a lot. I'll give an example: your solos on Nightrain and You Could Be Mine in 2006 were way more technical-sounding and kind of veered towards shredding (in my opinion) whereas I think nowadays they're somewhat more melodic without sounding like imitations of Slash, so clearly you're still bringing your own personality to them. My question is, was that a conscious effort on your part to make the solos sound more like the songs originally did? Or did that just kind of happen organically as you 'connected' with the vibe of the band the more you played with them? (Hopefully that's not an insulting question, I mean it as a compliment.) Also, you guys should play TWAT more often. I think it's interesting how the song takes on more of a rock n' roll edge when it's played live, when it's stripped down a bit more than the album version.

What GNR 's song do you consider to be funnest to play?

    permalenke

[–]Cartesian_Theatre 1 poeng 3 timer siden

Hey Ron,

As a teenager, my guitarist inspirations have always been the entire Boggling gods of guitar bunch which include Christophe Godin, Mattias Eklundh, Guthrie Govan, you etc. who can manage to even add humor to their music. Please forgive me if this question is long >_<"...

To advance as a guitarist and musician each one of you'll said that practicing isn't really practicing for you'll and for certain exercises or rules that you'll profess to help and save time, weren't really used by you'll in the first place. (eg. Guthrie said that he didn't really practice with a metronome and got his sense of timing from playing along records)

We have a lot of information out there... It's almost disturbing the amounts of guitar content just floating out there. There are so many schools of thought that for someone who just fiddles around, the way to progress is a huge crossroads of paths all leading in some other direction all claiming to be able to take you to the final destination. I don't know whether I should copy those licks of a charlie parker record only to forget them 2 days later or start trying to learn a song using tabs or notes only to get bored half-way and start over. Concentrate on learning to be the best improviser and just end-up playing scales up and down or try to spend time getting "the roots" as all the guitarists say with the blues to be able to phrase more melodically and/or transcribing long solos and licks which I eventually don't end up using.

My generation has too many options which is for some reason more distracting ? I know it's stupid or lazy to say that I am spoilt for choice.

But this question is more from a kid who feels that he needs to be able to switch on to "practice" mode to start improving and isn't naturally "talented" or won't fake that he loves the guitar to be able to consider practice as no practice. To someone who came from the time where all the tools at our disposal didn't exist !! Which way do I turn ?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 1 poeng 10 timer siden

No idea... I've said for the last 5 years that every time we're going to do a leg of touring, we should hit the studio a week before and bust out a new song that we'd release and play during that leg. If we did that there's already be a new album written by this band at this time... not that simple though, everyone has to be in agreement and it may conflict with label agreements. GAAAAHH!! Would have been great though.

[–]LeviSnuts 1 poeng 11 timer siden

Hey Ron! First, thanks for doing this. I saw you at your first GNR gig at Hammerstein 06. I love what you bring to Guns. So thank you.

Second - on to my questions, I have a few - feel free to answer any/all/none.

Any chance we'll see AWOL released digitally? I've been looking for it forever.

What's your favorite moment with Guns?

Was it your choice to add the little bit of Buckethead to the end of Going Down? Or was that done after you completed your additions?

Can you put in a word to Axl & Team Beta that the fans would LOVE to see Chinese Democracy on HDtracks in all its glory. It is without a doubt my favorite record and I really want to hear it in 24bit/192khz.

If you could go back in time and see any performer/concert/event - what would it be?

Thank you so much for everything, the energy you bring to GNR and the closeness of the band really shows and it's great to see the band in top form again. Can't wait to see you guys in 2014!

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 9 poeng 11 timer siden

Hmmm, I don't have clean mixes of it, any digi copies would have vinyl clicks & pops in 'em, lol...
Fave moment was when we played the Bridge School Benefit show, to me that meant more than anything else we had done...
I think that was a rough mix, I wasn't part of the mixing...
They should release the albums as all stems, to 'make your own mix' - I did that in 2011 with my own songs, loved hearing what people did Smile
First one that comes to mind is Beatles in Hamburg 1962

[–]manfisman -2 poeng 11 timer siden

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 7 poeng 11 timer siden

[–]manets 0 poeng 11 timer siden

Hey Ron, you said Simple Days was supposed to have been a Guns N' Roses song. I think it's a great tune, why it didn't work out for GNR? Are there any other songs in your solo albums that were meant for the band?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 11 timer siden

There's going to be plenty of songs on my next releases that would have been for GNR, that I'm keeping for myself. I don't want to give songs to GNR - I want to write songs WITH GNR, so that they're truly GNR songs...

Hey Ron!

You met my gf and I in Detroit a few years ago before the show and really helped a friend out in Australia last year, so thanks a ton, I really appreciate all that!

Did you have a good holiday? and any chance of an American Bumble tour one day?

Have a great New Years!

Hoping to do more Bumble touring everywhere in the world. I let it fall to the side and that was a mistake. Finally getting back to it Smile Solo shows coming up in LA & Vegas in January Smile (info at bumblefoot.com)

I have tried to make music with my friend for the last few years. I am wondering what steps do you have to take to become recognized in music. I am asking before I will act just to make sure

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 4 poeng 10 timer siden

Don't worry about that. Make music that moves you, and share it. Let the world decide from there Smile

Did you ever meet Kurt Cobain and what was he like?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 11 timer siden

Ahhh, never met him, no... Razz Love Nirvana, loved where things were heading... Razz

[–]raindogs70 0 poeng 11 timer siden

How did you know Joe Satriani for him to refer you to GNR?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 11 timer siden

We had just jammed a month earlier, he had me join him on a song - fun stuff Smile He knew a bit of my solo stuff - there are a few degrees of separation between all guitarists, lol...

Why won't Axl Rose release out the remainder of the Chinese Democracy session material?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 4 poeng 11 timer siden

Don't know. Think it'd make a great box set chronicling a significant era in the band's history - should include interviews & footage, I think fans would love that. But that aint my call.... Razz

Thank you Smile Pain for the rest of my life, that I've learned to control by re-learning how to move & completely changing my diet to strict anti-inflammatory. I feel like I've been murdered and the murderer got away. But I channel it into useful things - I made guitar cases that are easier to carry, for people that need it... http://www.eastsport.com/deluxe-electric-roller-case.html We're tested for a reason. The reason comes in time...

Hello Ron. Have You some ideas for Your new solo album? When we can expect more new great music from You? Smile Greetings from Poland.

Greetings! I'm slowly starting to write solo songs again, usually takes some devastation to bring out the lyrics...

Is there anything on the gig 'rider' which is personal to you? (red m&ms :-) )

Blueberries and water. That's it. In the past year I did ask for plain Greek yogurt, but that seemed to have been too outrageuos a request. I'm such a diva. lol.....

[–]stormpack -2 poeng 11 timer siden

What's your personal view on GNR leaks?

How much do they affect the decisions made by the management and the band?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 11 timer siden

They don't help progress..... Razz

Hi Ron! Thanks for this AmA and for being so polite with your fans, always. My question is... do you know argentinian music besides tango?

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 10 timer siden

I know some, but I'm no expert. Can always learn more Smile

Workin' on new solo songs sloooowly, yes Smile Thank you!

[–]emptyheadman -2 poeng 11 timer siden

Fo0t,

Hermit is a brilliant album. How do you look back on its themes of solitude and lonliness now that you're so well known?

Also, I heard a rumor years ago that you transcribed most of Mike Varney's Shrapnel artists for something called Shrapnel University. Any chance you have some floating around?

Thanks for the AMA, being a beast of a player, and being a super cool dude. All the best.

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 11 timer siden

Thank you Smile I'm very happy with the Hermit album, it was honest Smile Just wish the mastering was clearer...!

Don't have those transcriptions, gaaaaah!!

Thanks so much Smile

Ron! No questions here, just wanted to stop by and say Hi. Lookin' forward to catchin' ya in a couple weeks at Vamp'd. I decided to make the trek, I need to escape the snow for a little while. Happy holidays to ya.

HEY!! See you there! Very Happy Thanks, Happy Holidays!! Very Happy

[–]kazakaro 1 poeng 9 timer siden

Hey, I'm a massive 'classic' Guns fan, I don't hate Chinese democracy, i just don't love it or feel it. I couldn't choose so I have a couple of questions, firstly, do you ever feel that Guns has become more like Axl's solo project and your just performing on it? Secondly, what is your relations with Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven or Matt? They was all a massive part of the band that you are a massive part of now and I want to know if you have ever even met them, I know you perform with Izzy semi often and Duff has joined you on stage before for a song or two.

I hope Guns can come somewhere near me in England sometime soon, would be great to see a live show but I guess I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for the new album.

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 8 timer siden

Hey Smile I've had different amounts of contact with past members of Guns, love Duff & Izzy, wonderful guys Smile Had lots of cool times with Duff, love him & his family Smile

[–]DarenHudson14 -2 poeng 11 timer siden

Hi Ron, ty for doing this, I'm Guns N' Roses fan and, too i like your works alone. When you were a kid, you were a fan of Gn'R? Greeting, ty for follow back!

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 4 poeng 11 timer siden

I remember seeing the vid to Jungle at 3AM on MTV, loved it. Played some GNR covers with friends in local cover bands growing up, yeah man - who didn't love Guns?! Smile

[–]manets -1 poeng 11 timer siden

Ron, what's the weirdest thing you've ever seen a fan do in order to get in touch with you or any other artist?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 10 timer siden

One crawled through air-ducts of the venue and came crashing through the ceiling backstage, lol. Another burnt one of my family members with a cigarette, later threatened to slice an assistant's throat. It varies... Razz

[–]NotTheCanadianAverag -3 poeng 11 timer siden

hey Ron I'm a huge fan. I was wondering who wrote the guitar parts for shacklers revenge and what is it like to work with buckethead?

    permalenke

[–]TheRealBumblefoot[S] 3 poeng 11 timer siden

Thanks Smile The song was already written when I joined, and Bucket had already left, so unfortunately we never got to make music 'together' Razz Hopefully we can some day Smile The final mix was Bucket's main rhythms & whammy parts in chorus, I did fretless riffs in verses, rhythms in the rest, and all the soloing throughout..... such an interesting song, love playing it live!!
