MSL claims to have new stuff
MSL and his side-kick reviews acclaimed remixes of If the World, Shackler's Revenge, This I Love, Better, Better Gone, Dj solos Ballad of Death and Mi Amor, Going Down and an On My God that sounds incomplete. All from the alleged remix album of Chinese Democracy.
It could be that MSL's gotten his hands on unreleased remixes, he is a known and vocal guy and people might use him as a person to leak things or create buzz. It could also be this is just bullshit from MSL designed to garner attention for his site and himself. I don't know at all.

Yeah, he's been an attention-seeker unfortunately, so it is difficult to view anything he does without a very sceptical eye...

The admin"highvoltage" over at mygnrforum confirms that he was sent a track from MSL containing snippets of the 11 songs MSL has claimed to be in possession of.

Re: MSL claims to have new stuff
I don't know, there are so many "fan-made" things out there, it could be anything...
"gothic Dj remix" of Better, I mean sounds a bit like a cliché?
Also, 95% of what MSL told in the past was made up somehow.

It would have been hilarious if someone is making a fool of MSL by sending him fan-made stuff . But he also does claim to have This I Love with a raspier vocal track from Axl. That's hard to fake by fans.

Yeah, he claims so, but can the guy who received the snippets confirm this?
And btw, Axl sang this live many times, in theory someone could isolate a vocal track and put it onto a studio version...

That's true. Some fans are really resourceful.

Re: MSL claims to have new stuff
Axl himself is an excellent mimic (ie Alice Cooper's voice) and I have heard two other fans mimic the vocal stylings of Axl and they weren't bad - both are from South America and quite young. Some fans are so resourceful they could put out the GN'R album we've all been waiting for.... but for the new songs.
I know it is a style of architecture but does anyone know what Gothic sounds like?

I guess they mean "goth" as in The Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus and other bands from that scene. I used to listen to a lot of goth music in my youth.

Re: MSL claims to have new stuff
Uh, not so sure if posting something like this publicly at mygnr would be useful. Any real lawyer would just forward this to the admin, but not in public.
Me too! I used to like The Sisters Of Mercy (but not so much any more these days, still touring but releasing something new seems to take ages - oh well I should be used to that...), The Mission, Fields of the Nephilim and all that. It's uncertain how the term "Gothic" was coined. Some claim it was Siouxsie (a Sex Pistols fan, later to front "Siouxsie & the Banshees"), some claim it was from a review of a Joy Division record saying it sounded like a "gothic cathedral".

Re: MSL claims to have new stuff
Aha! the plot thickens and muddies some more. I agree with Uli.
Aha! again. I'll have to check out SOM - not sure I heard them. Probably.
I was 13 in 1976 when the Pistols hit U.S. and my brother and I instantly glommed onto them. I remember knowing about Siouxsie and the Banshees from fan magazines but a LOT of stuff that came over form England in the wake of the Pistols couldn't touch them and we wrote it off as so much pop repackaged as punk, eventually called "New Wave" a la Blondie. I don't remember noticing the Banshees too much. I'll try again.

We're getting more and more off-topic, but anyway:
I think "gothic" developped out of (post-)punk & new wave, it was just a few bands making some "darker" kind of music, incl. Siouxsie & the Banshees, Bauhaus, Joy Division etc.
To get back to the above: Dj may look a bit "goth", his sound is more "AOR rock" though. Not sure why or how he would do a "gothic remix" of any track...

Re: MSL claims to have new stuff
I agree with your assessment of DJ's look/sound. Hearing this MSL podcast's references to DJ and his sound (in the context of a post at newgnr.com of all places inhospitable to DJ's look and sound) was a bit odd. I like his showmanship and interaction with fans but couldn't really imagine what the speakers were referring to in reference to DJ's sound in the podcast. I admit I'm not at all familiar with his work with Sixx A.M.
I guess when I think of Gothic sounding music I think of something along the lines of the Ballad of Dwight Frye by Cooper or Type-O Negative. Something vampire-friendly while a bit campy, do you know what I mean? Oh, I guess that would include KISS.
