Looking for a rock ‘n’ roll style mansion in the hills, decorated with alligator print wallpaper and custom-made black crystal chandeliers? Look no further.
Top-hat-wearing former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and Perla Hudson, who agreed to end their marriage in December, are listing their Mulholland Estates mansion. The 11,000-square-foot Tuscan Villa-like home on Clerendon Road will hit the market for nearly $11 million this week.
The three-story pad includes six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a swimming pool with outdoor bar, a skate ramp, and large kitchen with double islands. The master bedroom includes a large walk-in closet as well as paneled walls that double as storage space.
The lower level features a nightclub replete with DJ booth, LED lights, a pole-dancing pole and photo booth. It also offers a professional recording studio with vocal booth as well as a screening theater and wine cellar.
“It’s like an adult playground,” Hudson tells The Hollywood Reporter.
What’s more, the furnishings and decor have been customized to reflect the rock ‘n’ roll couple’s lifestyle.
Among the highlights, one living room is lined with alligator-print wallpaper, while skulls and crossbones adorn walls on the lower level. The home is outfitted with several custom-made crystal chandeliers, and the fireplace includes two antique statues from a 1920s movie theatre that Hudson bought at an auction years ago.
“It’s European eclectic rock chic,” she says.
The pair bought the mansion for $7.3 million in 2009 and spent six months renovating and customizing it. Hudson and the couple’s two middle-school-aged boys are seeking a new smaller home. The long-haired rocker guitarist is living in the San Fernando Valley with his new girlfriend.
Mulholland Estates is a gated community in the hills between Sherman Oaks and Beverly Hills. It is home to stars such as Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, Vanna White and Robby Williams.
“A lot of celebrities love Mulholland Estates because it’s gated and difficult to get in to and there’s no paparazzi,” says listing agent Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Previews International in Beverly Hills. Of her home’s future owner, Hudson, adds, “I hope they have as many good memories of her as I have so far.”
