There are rumors but nothing confirmed as of yet. I suppose we will hear in not too long.

While I obviously wouldn't mind seeing them live again, I actually do hope that they make that new album in stead. It's been relatively silent since a couple of months about that?

I agree. New album is way more important.

I haven't kept updated but I do believe Slash talked about working on the record not too long ago, @Blackstar can probably fill us in.

Yeah, Slash said in his latest interviews (which were done before the band's recent shows) that they had done some work towards the new album and that they would focus on that after the short festival tour. So, if this is to be believed, they are supposed to be working on it currently. Hopefully they are, as none of them seem to be preoccupied with other projects at this moment.

There was also the assumed Fernando account on reddit, who said that something will come out within the next six months - which would make it around March next year (so around the time of the South American festival run).

And then there are the rumours coming from "insiders" - to which I don't give any credence, though - about an EP in the spring and an album later next year.

Probably in GNR world it makes more sense that everyone involved is silent and actually working on it, compared to everything from 2009-2015 when every now and then one of the band members besides Axl would talk about it and still nothing happened!

If it's an one off show in January, I don't think it will affect the recording (supposing that they've actually been working in the studio). Besides, if they're really going to release something (e.g. a single) in March in physical form and not just digital, it should be finished by the end of January.

Really, the "reunion" with the old band members was welcome and it felt really exciting to watch it from afar back in 2016. But now, almost four years later, most of the enthusiasm towards GN'R has left my soul… Silent Cry

(Not to mention all those years after CD world tours circa 2011 to 2015, when there was talk of new stuff, but nothing ever came our way.)

Guns N’ Roses rolled out yet another leg of their reunion tour earlier this week that will bring them to stadiums across North America throughout the summer. They downgraded to arenas in America after the first leg of the tour in 2016, and filling 60,000 seat venues might seem like a tough task at this point, but they must have reason to think that the demand remains this high.
Amazingly, this will be the 14th leg of the tour. By this point, they’ve hit just about every place on the planet where they could conceivably play, including Malaysia, Taiwan, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Indonesia. They’re going to Central America for the second time next month and Europe for the third time in May. If promoters start booking concerts on the moon, Antarctica, or man-made islands along the coast of China, they’ll probably play there, too.

The South American leg is hanging in a thread now. I expect more cancellation due to Covid-19 over the next days.

The shows in Columbia, Chile and Brazil have also been postponed by the respective governments.

And it seems that Live Nation is about to pause all the tours starting from Saturday:

So only the show in Mexico will take place and the rest of the Latin American tour is postponed/canceled.

In Germany any "big events" won't be happening until Aug 31st (at least), i.e. the May gigs here will be cancelled for sure.
