Date:
March 31, 1988.

Venue:
The Late Show.

Location:
Los Angeles, USA.

Setlist:
01. You're Crazy
02. Used To Love Her

Notes:
A television performance on 'The Late Show.'

Line-up:
Axl Rose (vocals), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm guitarist), Slash (lead guitarist), Duff McKagan (bass) and Steven Adler (drums).

Quotes:
On March 31, 1988, we did another acoustic performance, with me playing drums, on a show that was called Fox Late Night, a variety show. It featured a black host, so 'One In A Million' was out of the lineup. Instead we did a medtempo version of 'You're Crazy' and also 'Used To Love Her'. [...] The reason why I remember that performance so well is because we played 'Crazy' the way it was always meant to be played: slower, sleazy, more bluesy, with much more feeling, and not the frantic sped-up version on Appetite. Even though Axl had to censor himself for TV and leave out all the "fuckin's," he did a masterful job, and it's definitely my favourite rendition of 'Crazy.'[Steven's autobiography, "My Appetite for Destruction", 2012, p. 160]

I always loved this performance. Slash seemed to be experimenting with some “chicken pickin” country guitar twang on his leads, and was just killing it! I wish he had continued to pursue this more and integrated it more into his playing style, because it sounded so good.
